Japan Longevity Consortium and selg Selected as One of the Top 40 Teams in the XPRIZE Healthspan Competition! Proposing a Japan-Originated Healthy Longevity Program to the World

The Japan Longevity Consortium (JLC), represented by Professor Shigeo Horie of Juntendo University Graduate School, Tokyo, Japan and selg Co Ltd., led by President Takuro Arai, are proud to announce their selection as one of the top 40 teams advancing to the semifinals in the global science and technology competition, “XPRIZE Healthspan.” This competition, organized by the XPRIZE Foundation and the Hevolution Foundation, offers a total prize of $101 million (approximately 15 billion yen) to seek groundbreaking solutions that can significantly extend human healthspan.

The JLC brings together interdisciplinary researchers from Juntendo University, the University of Tokyo, and Osaka University to analyze the factors behind healthy longevity rooted in traditional Japanese lifestyle practices, dietary culture, and social connectedness, using the latest medical science. selg Inc. is responsible for implementing the program.
Selected from over 190 teams across more than 40 countries, JLC and selg are among the few teams from Japan to receive international recognition.
